Woods of Wisdom

Woods of Wisdom

Many of life's lessons are illustrated in nature.
It's ok to be a little different.
Be strong in life's storms.
Release the inner child in you.
Compliment one another.
Be flexible when necessary.
It's ok to just be part of the scenery sometimes.
Support one another.
Have a good sense of humor.
Know when to hold back.
Get sunshine every day.
Let others feel safe with you.
Share your heart with someone.
Life experiences add to your character.
Be willing to catch someone when they fall.
Be a good host.
Simple touches add a lot.
Drink plenty of water.
You can't go wrong with flowers.
Know when to leave.
Keep your eyes wide open.
Every detail adds to the big picture.
Open your heart, open your mind.
Be willing to take your life in a new direction.
Be ready for unexpected twists and turns.
Establish a firm foundation.
Show what you're made of.
Stand your ground.
Don't leave things up in the air.
Branch out.
Look at the beauty all around you.

In this age of countless self-help resources, maybe we tend to over think.   Perhaps answers to our questions and lessons of life can be learned when we connect with Nature.  Awaken your senses.  Listen to your Mother!
The first word I was taught to read was "Look!" followed closely by "See!"  There's a great message in those two little words expressed in many cliches passed down through the ages.  Cliches have a way of becoming stale when overused so clear your head of those familiar sayings and get some fresh air!  Take a walk in the Woods of Wisdom.
Your books are all so beautiful and touching! I love all your nature photography and the wisdom quotes you used with each picture. They were so fitting.

When Ida Skies Are Smiling
I try to spend some quiet time each day observing Nature.  I truly marvel at the gorgeous skies I have been able to witness from my home in Ida, Arkansas.  I love this quote from Eleanora Duse:

"If the sight of the blue skies fills you with joy,
if the simplest things of nature have a message you understand,
rejoice, for your soul is alive."
When Ida Skies Are Smiling

I walk and I look, I look and I walk
And as I do so I am deep in thought
I love this quiet time each day
To have my talk with You along the way

In the silent conversations that we share
I feel so connected and aware
Of all the simple beauty that I see
As if You were pointing it out tome

The sky's astounding kaleidoscope of clouds
The way the moon looks through bare tree boughs
The palette of colors, ever-changing
Every size and shape---it's all amazing!

It could be a cross or the letter "T"
Wait!  It's changing right in front of me!
Unusual forms and so many hearts
Nothing can compare to Nature's art

You've shown me I've much to be thankful for
Little things I overlooked mean much more
You divert my mind from questioning "Why?"
To the divine wonders of Earth and Sky

Morning, evening, in sunshine or in rain
A fresh canvas of beauty, painted again
Whether winter or summer, fall or spring
New scenes appear, each awe-inspiring

I'm always left with a measure of peace
My troubling thoughts I can now release
I'm truly grateful for all You have given
Especially the love You send straight from Heaven
