I See Hearts
I See Hearts

From that first moment
our bond began to grow.
layer by layer,
forming the most intricate,
beautifully detailed work of art.

When you left, my heart became empty.
You try to fill the space
with gentle reminders of you
everywhere I look.

When I first held you
When you smiled back
When you said my name
When you first tasted ice cream
When you took your first steps
When you blew out your candles
When you wrote your name

Hats and He-Man toys
Cowboy boots and bedtime stories
Training wheels and tee-ball
Ferris wheels and fireworks
Puppies and popcorn
Skateboards and school projects

When you learned to drive
When you graduated
When you moved into your own place
When others saw how great you were
When you took my advice
When you gave me advice
When you called just to talk

Memories,
layer upon layer,
filling my heart with your love,
your legacy.

I See Hearts features more beautiful hearts found in nature along with my reflections of wonderful memories with Adam and Tim.  I originally created this book on the Shutterfly.com website and it was chosen to be featured on the main page of their Gallery.  From the comments I received, many people were deeply touched and amazed by the different hearts that can be found in nature.  To date over 3300 people have viewed I See Hearts.

I viewed your album earlier this morning - and wasn't able to find the 'right' words to express my sympathies and sorrow over your loss. As a mother of two young men myself, your albums lingered with me throughout the day. I returned to share this with you. My prayers are with you and each time I view a heart, I will remember to keep Adam and Tim in my thoughts. For the rest of today, I put aside all of my 'TO DOs' and plan to BE with my guys. Your generous sharing such a personal album is a wonderful reminder to us all to not take our time together for granted. Thank you and may the HEARTS of your loved ones always remain ever-present!

This book brought tears to my eyes. What a creative therapeutic idea to use hearts and nature to showcase the memories in the mind. My condolences for your loss and your families. Each image and caption brought memories of bringing up my sons. I love the use of hearts and nature. I do not know how you do it. My heart is out to you.
